WERK FAM!!!!
Will you be ready if you get what you ask for?
“But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
Matthew 14:24-31 KJV
Be ready for what you asked for.
“Do you believe I can do this”
“As you believe be it done unto you”
Mentally you have to prepare.
Peter asked Jesus for something and got what he requested. But the elements frightened him. His feelings got in the way. Yeah, his Faith allowed him to walk on water- his feelings caused him to sink.
And I think about life today. Faith allows us to move in peace and love and joy- but our feelings cause us to sink. Sink into anger, envy, jealousy, or rage. We sink when we consider the elements vs the command. When we look at what is going on around us, we might forget the command. Our feelings might make us lean or sink into even our own understanding. Peter trusted And was able to walk on water. Soon as Peter doubted he sank.
The mission to prepare is a mental mission. It’s the process of determining what you trust more. Do you trust the command or your feelings?
To walk in what we are called to do we must have faith. You have to know the person calling you to do something is greater than the elements that seem to be able to stop you.
For Peter, the God that called him to walk on water was greater than the winds and elements that made him afraid.
What is stopping you from doing what you were called?
Is fear overtaking you?
Why do you doubt?
If the person that calls you is greater than all... wherefore shall we doubt?
So then, we must prepare for what we ask. Mentally we must determine that the God who calls is the same one who authorizes. The God who gives permission is the same one who is the owner of all.
So, prepare. Mentally begin to see the desired result. Settle the matter mentally. My feelings don’t even matter if they go against the command. Yeah if God tells you to do something it doesn’t matter if you think you can or not. Lean not to your own understanding.
